Know how safe your suburb is by looking at recent crime trends
It’s important to feel safe and secure in your local area. Some neighbourhoods have high crime reputations and we find this isn’t always the reality when looking at the data. These perceptions can drive property prices and help families make decisions on what areas are suitable to relocate to.
With SafeSuburbs you can access the latest available information on homicides, assaults and violent crimes, theft and robbery and other crimes such as drugs and prostitution offences in your area.
Have the confidence to live, buy property or simply visit a suburb you feel safe in.
How Safe Suburbs works
Our perceptions of how safe a suburb is are often influenced by what we hear in local media and news reports. This can sometimes give us an inflated or false sense of crime rates in our suburbs. By accessing police data and presenting this over a timeline of over 6 years you can see not only how safe your suburb is but what the crime trends are. These trends can make all the difference when considering relocating to new areas and answering the big question “how safe is my suburb?”
What suburbs in Australia can I see crime statistics for?
Currently, you can see all criminal offence data for various crimes including robberies, murder, assault and more. Suburbs are listed by their police division which means that suburbs are grouped together. To work out which suburb is relative to you, look up your closest police precinct.
Later this year we will have access to Victoria and New South Wales crime data.
